| I am going to become invisible for an undetermined amount of time. Some things have happened in my personal life that make it necessary for me to withdrawl contact for awhile. I will still be reading and reviewing any stories I am currently reading, but I will be silent on the boards and with email. If you are waiting for me to finish beta'ing a chapter for you, I'm sorry, I won't be able to get that done in the forseeable future. I won't be posting the game results for the end of the season either. (not that many of you pay much attention to that anyway). | I got up early this morning to walk. I didn't go to the park, I just walked around the block. I did three circuits in 23 minutes and 1 second. I can do the 1/4 mile track at the park in an average of 4 1/2 minutes, so time wise I think I did a little over 1 1/4 mile. I'm not real sure, since I have know way of knowing what speed I was actually going. When I go to the park tonight, I will walk 5 laps and compare times, and then when I get home, I'll drive the block and get a more accurate distance. I am going to try to walk the block every morning, and at the park every evening (weather permitting) . . . we'll see how well I do ^_^ | ||||||||

| The dr prescribed an NSAID for my hip, he said if it's not any better in 3 weeks he'll have to run an MRI to make sure there is no major damage. It's the hip I have osteoprosis in, and the one that was so damaged in that wreck back in 1993 that I will eventually have arthritis in it. I'm hoping there are no other problems and the NSAID will help. | ||||||||

| four laps in 17:22. I didn't actually nap, but I was in the recliner most of the day relaxing. my goal is to be able to walk eight laps (2 miles) in 30 minutes. I'm along way from that, as right now I do good to get in the mile before I start hurting. I've got an appointment with the dr. today about my hip and ankles tomorrow. generally on the third lap, by hip starts hurting, and if I sat too long, my ankles don't support my weight very well. We'll see what he has to say. | ||||||||

| Napping before I walk has a definite effect on my time. I walked my 4 (1/4 mile) laps in 17 minutes and 43 seconds this evening. 2 seconds better than my time last saturday when I took a nap before I walked. I think I'll try this experiment again tomorrow. | ||||||||

| I walked a mile in 17 minutes and 45 seconds, well over a minute faster than yesterday. I attribute this lesser time to two factors . . . I had nothing to eat an hour before I went to the park, and . . . I spent that hour napping :) I'm not sure if I will be able to repeat this experiment again before next saturday, as that would require me going to the park after the mini'Mione's bed time . . . | ||||||||

| There is a 1/4 mile concrete loop around the local park, so I try to walk that 4 times each evening (weather permiting). I got a stop watch yesterday. So now I have an acurate time to work from. | I really need to get a stop watch . . . it took longer to walk the mile tonight, even though the watch I DO have says it took a little over 20 minutes . . . I have a very sophisticated watch . . . it has a black face and gold hands . . . but no numbers or other marks to let you know *exactly* what time it is . . . you just have to approximate . . . when I started the walk, it was *approximately* 1907 . . . when I finished it was *approximately* 1924 but I know it took longer because of where the song was when I passed the 1 mile mark . . . *shrug* ah well . . . can't win em all | ||||||||

| I took the girls to the park this evening. I let them play on the equipment while I walked the quarter mile track. It took me about 30 minutes to walk a mile . . . that is a vast improvement from the last time I attempted it . . . I'm hoping to shave off about 10 minutes, but I know it won't happen over night. I think next time i will take a stop watch so I can get an exact overall time as well as the splits. | ||||||||||
